Who I am

I'm Dhanush, a Full Stack & AI Engineer originally from Bengaluru, now based in Melbourne. Moving countries was a deliberate decision: I wanted to push myself harder, operate in a new market, and work on more ambitious problems.

My engineering journey started deeper in the stack than most. At Microchip Technology, I was the sole developer for the ADC module of 16-bit dsPIC microcontrollers, owning the full pipeline from UI design and backend integration to automated testing and CI/CD. I delivered a customer-ready beta in six weeks.

That experience fundamentally shaped how I think about ownership. It taught me what it means to be the final line of defence on a system, and to care deeply about the engineer on the other side who has to use what you built.

Since then, I've moved up the stack into full-stack SaaS platforms, RAG pipelines, and agentic AI systems. But the same instinct still drives me: go one layer deeper, understand how things actually work, then build upward deliberately. It's a philosophy I admire in engineers like Andrej Karpathy: build from first principles first, abstract with intention second.

Beyond engineering, I teach. At Code Camp, I was promoted from Teaching Assistant to Head Teacher within three months. I now lead teams of TAs and teach AI and game development to students across Melbourne. Teaching has made me a significantly sharper engineer. If you can explain something clearly enough that a twelve-year-old understands it, you quickly discover whether you truly understand it yourself.

For me, great engineering is equal parts curiosity, ownership, and execution. I'm most fulfilled when I'm building difficult things with people who care deeply about what they ship, whether that's low-level embedded systems, scalable SaaS platforms, or the next generation of AI products.
